On Friday, K-Electric demanded that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) allow more rises in electricity rates for port city residents just two days after the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved a raise in electricity prices to be paid to its customers.
In its application to NEPRA, KE has demanded a further raise of Rs1.54 per unit along with approval for additional Rs143.86 billion investment.
The ECC had accepted a price hike of Rs1.9 per unit of electricity for customers in Karachi earlier this week.
